The dark web refers to a part of the internet that’s only accessible with special software, allowing users and website owners to operate anonymously. Although it uses much of the same infrastructure as the regular web, dark web servers are hidden beneath multiple layers of security.

Studies show that most businesses never reopen or close their doors within a year following a major incident. However, most of the organizations that suffer unacceptable losses because of an unforeseen catastrophe do so because they’re not prepared for the worst-case scenario.

Nonprofit organizations (NPO) carry out crucial work all over the world, but while they’re supporting at-risk communities, cybercriminals are out in force to exploit their noble deeds. Because NPOs often enroll temporary volunteers and collect online donations, they’re considered easy targets for ransomware, social engineering scams, and a multitude of other threats.

Law firms build their entire brands on trust. Naturally, the highly sensitive nature of the information they hold makes them a favorite target of cybercriminals. This is one of the reasons why the legal sector has been slow to innovate. Although new technologies present opportunities, they also introduce new risks, which pushes leaders of law firms to halt innovation on the grounds of data security and privacy.
